    College Relations Core Leadership Area – Vacant

    Chapter Goals

    • Strengthen link with State Chapter advisor and better understand everyone's roles (advisor, chapter college relations chair, state college relations director).
    • Encourage re-activation of and provide support to Ole MS SHRM Chapter
      • Involve Chapter in Student Chapter meetings
      • Involve Student Chapter in NEMSHRA meetings
    • Give Report at each Chapter meeting
    • Participate in a minimum of two SHRM webinars; live or archived.
    • Utilize the SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence for planning activities and meeting Chapter objectives
    • Utilize Assistant and mentor for a Leadership role

    President and Website Administrator – Charlotte Pratt

    • Look for new ideas to make website top in class
    • Promote chapter and community workforce involvement

    Diversity Core Leadership Area – Stacy Crowley

    Chapter Goals

    • Ensure that the Chapter Board and any committees have visible and invisible diversity representation (age, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, education, geographic location, background, personality style, thinking style, etc.).
    • Develop a Diversity Advisory Council for the chapter
      • Diversity advisory council contributes to an article or writes and submits an article on the topic of diversity (local newspaper, and posted on chapter website)
      • Utilize the chapter newsletter or web site for best-practice sharing in the area of diversity and inclusion
    • Diversity Advisory Council plans and holds an HRCI-approved “Diversity” seminar/event for one of the 2010 chapter meetings (credits for recertification). Conduct a diversity survey in the meeting. Partner this event with a local diverse or minority organization.
    • Strengthen link with State Chapter advisor and better understand everyone's roles
    • Give Report at each Chapter meeting, or have a chapter member share a diversity successful practices sharing opportunity with chapter
    • A chapter representative attends a state or local diversity conference of another SHRM affiliate
    • Encourage all Chapter Members to participate in a minimum of two SHRM webinars; live or archived.

    Legislative Affairs Core Leadership Area – Jon Bramlett

    Chapter Goals

    • Strengthen link with State Chapter advisor and better understand everyone's roles
    • Propose and obtain Board approval for an Assistant
    • Give Report at each Chapter meeting
    • Participate in a minimum of two SHRM webinars; live or archived.
    • Utilize the SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence for planning activities and meeting Chapter objectives
    • Monitor and evaluate pending federal, state, and local public policy issues that may impact the HR profession.
    • Work with Governmental Affairs staff to prepare and distribute regular status reports of pending public policy issues.
    • Utilize Assistant and mentor for a Leadership role

    Certification Core Leadership Area (SHRM) – Charlotte Pratt

    Chapter Goals

    • Sponsor a SHRM-SCP and SHRM-CP certification preparation study course
    • Seek pre-approval for eligible continuing education events through SHRM
    • Give report at each Chapter meeting
    • Participate in a minimum of two SHRM webinars; live or archived
    • Promote the certification exams in the Chapter
    • Promote recertification in the Chapter
    • Utilize Assistant and mentor for a Leadership role
    • Recognize and reward newly certified chapter members at a Chapter program

    Membership Core Leadership Area – Brittany Sanders

    Chapter Goals

    • Strengthen link with State Chapter advisor and better understand everyone's
    • Give Report at each Chapter meeting
    • Participate in a minimum of two SHRM webinars; live or archived
    • Utilize the SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence for planning activities and meeting Chapter objectives
    • Utilize and maintain a Sign In list at Chapter meetings and develop reports in support of objectives.
    • Update Name Badges against Membership
    • Have Visitor Badges available meetings
    • Develop New Member Packets from SHRM materials to help familiarize the person with SHRM and the website screens needed to sign up
    • Implement a Membership Recruitment & Retention Process noting dropped members, new members.
    • Utilize the SHRM Membership Recruitment and Retention Toolkit (in the VLRC).
    • Utilize Assistant and mentor for a Leadership role

    Secretary and Foundation Core Leadership Area (SHRM) – Kim Hardin

    Chapter Goals

    • Propose and obtain Board approval for an Assistant
    • Conduct 50/50 drawings at meetings to support SHRM Foundation
    • Educate Chapter on SHRM Foundation products and promote their use
    • Encourage members to apply for Foundation scholarships
    • Strengthen link with State Chapter advisor and better understand everyone's roles (advisor, chapter college relations chair, state college relations director).
    • Give Report at each Chapter meeting
    • Participate in a minimum of two SHRM webinars; live or archived.
    • Utilize the SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence for planning activities and meeting Chapter objectives

    Workforce Readiness Core Leadership – Vacant

    Chapter Goals

    • Develop list of local and state workforce readiness resources for chapters and members.
    • Investigate Chapter partnering with local schools for educational programs:
      • “What Employers are Looking For”
      • Interviewing
    • Investigate partnering with various 3 Rivers, Job Fairs, etc. to offer Resume Preparation/Interviewing Assistance
    • Utilize Assistant and mentor for a Leadership role
